A self-portrait with a Polaroid SX-70, reproduced and worked out as a platin-palladium-print.

Autodidact since 1965, but still learning. Black-and-White-photography became important to me about 1980, when I got my own darkroom. Besides I took experience in historic photography, for example cyanotype - and gum-bichromat-printing. These historic techniques are very important to me, also in present time. Actually I am preferably working with platin-palladium-prints.

Whith a very fine zero-image-pinhole-camera I was working mostly, but I tried some self-made pinholes too. Later I bought some Holgas, one for Colour, one for Black-and-White. I call the Holga the instant-pinhole-camera for it's aberrations and vignettings.

All their imperfections are my inspiration and I made some artist-books with these luminescent photographs. They are expressing my imaginations of silence and memory, life and death, past and today. I love this romantic glamour, which distinguishes their baryt-paper-prints.

Of course I´ve got some exactly working cameras: a Pentax LX whith some lenses and a small Leica, and I love them too!

Actually I like to take unperceived photographs of people visiting exhibitions and vernissages, printed in platin-palladium. Doing this the small Leica is my favourite tool.
